Charter Communications believes in protecting the privacy of our customers. As a general policy, Charter would never request sensitive account information such as account numbers, user names or passwords via unsecured channels such as e-mail.
If you receive an e-mail claiming to be from Charter Communications requesting you to update sensitive account information, do not reply to the e-mail as it is likely a phishing scam. Instead, report it to Charter Communications for investigation.
Reporting Phishing Scams to Charter Communications
Charter Webmail Users
If you check your e-mail through charter.net:
- Place a check mark on the message and click the "Report as Spam" button located between the "Subject" and "Date" columns.
Mail Client Users
If you use a 3rd party e-mail clients such as: Microsoft Outlook® Outlook Express®, Windows Mail®, etc.:
- Send the potential phishing scam to Charter for review. To do this, DO NOT alter the e-mail and send it in its entirety including the e-mail header to phishing@charter.net.
