What does Charter Support?

The Charter Communications Support Team will be happy to assist you in troubleshooting issues with your Charter High-Speed Internet Service. Our support scope for a residential internet accounts includes the following:

Operating Systems Cable Internet Connection Support

  • Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, and Vista
  • Apple Macintosh 9.x, 10.1.x, 10.2.x, 10.3.x, 10.4.x and 10.5.x

This includes

  • Troubleshooting connectivity and verifying internet connectivity to one computer. (If you have a home network, we may ask you to connect the cable modem directly to one computer for troubleshooting.)
  • Perform the power cycling process for a router, hub, or switch.
  • Release and renewal of IP address.
  • Reinstallation of drivers for USB Cable Modems and Network Ethernet cards for the supported operating systems.

Limited technical support will be given for the following operating systems as Microsoft and Apple have discontinued supporting these older operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, and NT 4.0 Workstation
  • Apple Macintosh 8.0, 8.1, 8.5, and 8.6
