The content below illustrates how to activate and customize the parental controls available to customers using the Charter High-Speed Security Suite® version 7.
Charter High-Speed Security Suite® - Parental Controls for Version 7
- On the bottom right of the computer screen, double left-click on the green shield icon in the system tray.

- The home page of the Security Suite will open.
- Click on the Parental Control tab on the left. Then Click on Profile wizard.

- Click Next.
- Select the level of control desired: Children, Teenagers, or Both children and teenagers. Click Next.

- Enter a Parent password that can be easily remembered. Click Next.
- To allow a teenager to bypass the Child profile, enter a Teenager password. This allows the teenager to view pages not suitable for a child, but still restricts selected content. Click Next.
- Click Finish to exit the Parental Control Profile Wizard.
- The parental controls advanced settings allow visited websites to be viewed, and time lock settings to be changed. From the Parental Control tab on the home screen of the Security Suite, click Advanced on the lower right.

- Click the Website List button.
- The pages visited will be listed in the Website List. The sites listed on the History tab were allowed by Parental Control.

- If a specific site needs to be allowed or denied, go to the Allowed tab or the Denied tab and click the Add button. Type the site address and click OK.

- To change the Parental Control password, go to the advanced settings screen for Parental Controls and click the Change Password button.
- Choose the parental control profile for the password that needs to be changed. Click Continue.
- Enter the current password. Enter the new password twice to confirm. Click OK.
- The password change will be confirmed. Click OK.
- To edit the Webpage Filter settings for the Teenager profile, select the Teenager option on the advanced parental controls screen. Click Edit.

- Make the desired adjustments to the Webpage Filter by checking or un-checking the boxes next to the categories. Click OK.

- To select the times a teenager is allowed to access the internet, click the Time Lock tab. After the desired times are selected, click OK.
