Charter High-Speed Security Suite-Firewall Rules

The Charter Value Added Services Support Staff provides support for the connectivity between a cable modem and a personal computer. The Value Added Services team also provides support for Charter High-Speed Security Suite and our Home Networking product. In order to provide you with further support we have created the following self-help information.

Firewalls are software and hardware solutions that protect your computer from dangers found on the internet. When a program on your computer tries to access the internet, the firewall will either allow it the access or prevent it from accessing. In order to allow the internet access, the firewall needs to be configured for each program that the computer uses. This configuration can take several forms; sometimes simply clicking “Allow This Program” when prompted is enough, other times the Firewall will need to be configured to allow certain ports to be opened. The software manufacturer will have more detailed information about this process.

  • On the bottom right of your computer screen, double left-click on the Charter High Speed Security Suite icon. This is located near the clock.
