Charter High-Speed Security Suite Re-Installation

The Charter Value Added Services Support Staff provides support for the connectivity between a cable modem and a personal computer. The Value Added Services team also provides support for Charter High-Speed Security Suite and our Home Networking product.

Steps Before Installation:

To uninstall the Charter High-Speed Security Suite, run the uninstall tool. Follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the link below:

    http://www.charter.com/Downloads/F-Secure/UninstallationTool.exe
  2. On the Open Program dialog box, choose “Run”.

    Click Run

  3. A download progress window will show the download process.

  4. If a Security Warning dialog box appears, click “Run”.

  5. On the welcome screen, choose “Next”.

    Click Next

  6. To start the un-installation program, click “Start”.

  7. A screen will show the progress of the un-installation process.

  8. To finish the un-installation program, click “Restart”.

Remove Third Party Conflicting Software

Uninstall any and all Anti-Virus and Firewall programs currently on your computer. This can be done by clicking Start>Settings>Control Panel. Double click Add/Remove Programs, select the program you want to remove, and click Change/Remove to start the removal process.

F-Secure Free Online Virus Scan

Click the following link to an On-Line Virus Scanner to confirm and help remove infections that your former anti-virus programs may have missed: http://support.f-secure.com/enu/corporate/ols.shtml#. If you cannot remove the viruses with the On-line Virus Scan, please contact your computer manufacturer for support with virus removal. After your computer has been cleaned you can install the Charter High-Speed Security Suite.

  • At the screen pictured below click OK.

    Click OK

  • Click on the Security Pop up at the top of the screen.

  • Click on the Install ActiveX Control button.

  • Click Install in the popup.

  • Click Accept on the F-secure page.

    Click Accept

  • Click Full System Scan.

  • Once the Scan is complete then the Charter High-Speed Security Suite can be installed.

    Downloading and Installing Charter High-Speed Security Suite

    • Click this link https://www.charter.com/order/login.aspx to login to your account or type the address into your browser's address bar.

      Click My Account Link

    • If already registered, type the Charter login name and password, and then click the Login button.

      Click Login Button

    • Click on the High-Speed Security Suite link.

      Click on the High-Speed Security Suite link

    • Click Activate. This will generate a license key used to activate the Charter High-Speed Security Suite. Three licenses are included per account. This license key will be emailed to the contact email address on the account. We suggest writing the license key down for easy access.

      Click Activate

    • Click Download. A prompt to remove any currently installed Anti-Virus programs will appear. Click Continue & Install.

      Click Download

    • A File Download box will open. Click Run.

      Click Run

    • NOTE: On Windows XP, an Internet security Warning will appear. Click Run.

      Click Run

    • Click the Accept button.

      Click Accept

    • If the key is not automatically displaying, enter the Subscription Key here and click on Next.

      Click Next

    • If parental controls are desired, select Full Installation otherwise select Full Installation without Parental Control.

    • Click Next to accept the default installation directory.

      Click Next

    • Wait until it finishes “Running Setup”.

    • The program will take a few minutes to download all the files. When finished select Restart.

      Select Restart

    • When restarted the Charter High-Speed Security Suite will automatically validate the subscription. When finished, click Next.

      Click Next

    • Select the appropriate Family structure and click Next.

      Click Next

    • Enter the Parent Password. Make sure it is something that is easy to remember.

    • Click on Finish.

      Click Finish

    • If Yes, I would like to learn more is selected, this window will appear. Click on Close to exit. The Charter High Speed Security Suite will be located in the system tray.

      Congratulations! The Charter High Speed Security Suite has been installed.
